Recipe: Beer can chicken

Beer can chicken is the manly way to cook chook.
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken
1 can beer
280g butter
3 tbsp dry spice rub of your choice
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Method:
Light the barbecue and set it to low heat.
Melt half the butter in a frying pan.
Mix in the dry spice rub, salt and pepper.
Drink or discard half the beer, leaving the other half in the can.
Add the remaining butter, dry spice rub, salt and pepper to the beer can.
Insert the can into the cavity of the chicken and place the beer can upright on a disposable baking tray.
Baste the chicken with the melted, seasoned butter.
Place the baking tray on the barbecue.
Cook over low heat for approximately three hours, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 80ºC.
Preparation: 30 minutes
Cooking: 3 hours
