Stay motivated to train

Setting S.M.A.R.T goals is the first step to getting motivated. The acronym isn’t a mistake. Without goals and a plan, the outcome will become fuzzy and fade out before you get out of bed in the morning.

S.M.A.R.T goals are Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and have a Timeline. I often see people training without these S.M.A.R.T goals and it’s not long before their motivation slips under the blankets.

Here’s how to get yourself in the right head space.

Invest
Buy a new pair of running shoes or some new training gear. If you’re struggling to get out there and pound the pavement, a new pair of runners will give you the kick in the butt you need.

Nothing spells motivation like new training gear. Get your hands on some good quality training apparel and you’ll want to get outside and show it off.

Hire
If you struggle with motivation, why not pay someone to motivate you? Getting a personal trainer will keep you focused during those times when motivation is low and ensure you stay on track.

When looking for a trainer you must be very selective and make sure he/she coaches you to set S.M.A.R.T goals, takes measurements and breaks down your goals step by step.

Sure, women in spandex are one source of motivation, but we have even better tricks...

  1. First
  2. Previous
  3. 1
  4. 2
  5. Next
  6. Last
