It seems that Twitter could be a way to open up lines of communication between politicians. Sure, it's not very official but Republican John Culberson of Texas and Senator McCakill seem to enjoy their tweet sessions.
Culberson replied to McCaskill, "You are right — direct conversation w/o mainstream media filter is one of many advantages to Twitter — commun is vital to our job."
In our own backyard, things seems a little more sedate. Kevin Rudd and staffers are up on the Tweets (

Former Prime Minister John Howard doesn't appear to have a Twitter, however someone claiming to be "The bestest PM EVA" and sporting a picture of Johnny is having a go.
